Here is all you need to know about Apple Logo History:
Apple was born in Cupertino California, the United States on April 1, 1976. The company was a partnership between three people named “Steve Jobs”, “Steve Wozniak” and “Ronald Wayne”. It was originally a personal computer company. Apple changed it’s logo sometimes since its existence. When they were building the company, Steve Jobs sold his VolksWagen microbus, and Steve Wozniak sold his Hewlett-Packard Calculator for $1,350 to start working on an Apple 1 prototype. When Jobs uttered the name ‘Apple’, Wozniak laughed and said, “It’s a computer company, not a fruit store.” Here is Apple Logo History:
Apple Logo History
1st Apple logo | 1976 to 1977:
Ronald Wayne himself designed the first logo of Apple. He was the third co-founder of the company. Later he sold his shares of the company in $800, and it is also known as the biggest mistake in the history. The tagline of the logo was, “Newton…A Mind Forever Voyaging Through Strange Seas of Thought…Alone.” Its time span was from 1976 to 1977.
2nd Apple Logo | 1977 to 1999:
Steve Jobs wanted a new logo which should be the best and most innovative in the tech industry. So he hired “Rob Janoff”, who designed the Rainbow Apple logo. The reason behind the bite out of the Apple logo is very simple. As the designer of the Apple logo explained that they added a bite out of the Apple Logo so that people can see that it’s an Apple, not a Berry. And also that bite represents the byte of computers. When he was designing Apple’s logo, one of his friends told him that bytes are the foundations of computers. There are many other stories behind the bite in the logo. But this is what the designer said about Apple Logo.
The logo was part of Apple computers and other products till 1999. In some computers, the logo was available as a separate part. If your computer’s logo is scratched or broken then, you can order a new one. It remained as Apple’s logo until August 26, 1999, when Apple acquired Steve Job’s NEXT, and he returned to Apple Computers.
3rd Apple logo | 1999 to present:
When Steve Jobs returned to Apple in 1997, he shut down various Apple programs and changed several things including Apple.Inc’s colored logo. A 3D version of Apple’s logo, which was available in several colors of the rainbow logo was official. These logos were supposed to be used on different occasions and in various products.
It is the current logo of Apple which was an update from rainbow Apple logo. When Steve Jobs came in charge as the interim CEO of Apple.Inc he thought that the reason behind Apple’s problems is maybe that rainbow logo. So he decided to discontinue the rainbow logo. Now Apple logo is Black and monochrome which is minimalist. It looks more beautiful than any version of Apple Logo History. All Logos are the property and trademark of Apple.Inc.
