WWDC 2016 announcements | Siri, watchOS, macOS, and iOS
WWDC 2016 announcements include incredible features in software department at Apple. First CEO Tim Cook joined the stage and condemned Orlando attack and asked for one-minute silence. After that, Apple announced tvOS improvements and more integration of Siri with TV. Now there will be a new iOS app on your iPhone that will allow you to control your Apple TV and will function like Apple TV remote. The app will have nearly similar UI like the Apple TV remote.
After the announcement of improvements in the watchOS and new features of watchOS Apple announced that they are rebranding OSX (OS10) as macOS. The change has been made due to the names of other OS’. The other announcement was the new version of the macOS, and it’s named as macOS Sierra. The OS will now have Siri built in, and it’s smarter than ever. Siri on the macOS is capable of doing great searches and have excellent features. The iPhone will now too have an improved Siri with more functionality and features. Apple also announced that they are releasing iOS 10 betas with incredible new features.
The new iOS 10 will have great 3D touch functions that were not useable before iOS 10 beta release. Control Center is now redesigned on the iOS 10 with a separate tab for Music with just one swipe. Now you can interact with apps more vibrantly without even launching them. 3D touch will also add some additional impressive features on the lock screen of the iOS 10. Apple also announced that they are opening Siri to the developers so that we can interact with apps via Siri. Siri will use AI to search for photos of your iPhoto Library on your iPhone or macOS. Siri will also have powerful web capabilities in macOS. Apple Music is now redesigned, and it’s easier to find tunes on it from now. Also, Apple will now let you delete stock iOS apps that you hate. Finally, this feature is here. Apple pay is also coming to the web as a competitor of PayPal.
Apple also announced great features for their messaging platform. It looks like that Apple wants to challenge Google and Facebook with the new iMessage. The new iMessage will have an App platform like Facebook messenger platform. The new iMessage app will also have some vibrant features that Google announced for their Allo messaging app. There will be unusual emoji reactions and emotion features in the new iMessage app. Apple also announced new enhancements in their NEWS app. Swift Playground is a platform for children to learn to code on an iPad. Apple also announced their Home app as a part of Home kit to show connected devices.
