Lenovo announced their first modular smartphone | Moto Z
Lenovo Tech World is happening, and they are coming up with some great products on which they have been working. After the announcement of World’s first Project Tango Phablet Lenovo announced a new kind of Modular smartphone named as Moto Z. There are two different but somehow similar versions of Moto Z.
A slim version of Moto Z has no headphone jack as it is incredibly thinner. Motorola is calling it the World’s thinnest premium smartphone. It has a 13 Mega Pixel rear camera with laser autofocus and OIS. It is the combination of military aircraft-grade aluminum and stainless steel. It has 4GB RAM and a 5.5″ Quad HD AMOLED Display. It is incredibly powerful too because it has Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 processor. The internal storage is 32GB and 64GB, which is expandable up to 2TB via microSD card. It is just 5.2mm thin. There is a wide-angle 5 Mega Pixel front facing the camera with an extra flash for clear selfies. There is a fingerprint scanner on the front of the smartphone. The phone is splash resistant due to water repellent coating on it. It also supports turbo charge and has 30 hours of battery life.
Moto Z Force:
The other version is Moto Z Force. It has same specs of previous Moto, but there are some plus points in it. The Moto Z Force has Moto Shatter-Shield that we have seen in the Moto Droid Turbo 2. It also has 21 Mega Pixels rear camera instead of 13MP of Moto-Z. It is thicker than Moto Z and offers 40 hours of battery life.
The main feature of both smartphones is the ability to attach modules which are known as Moto Modes. These two smartphones have modular accessories. Unlike LG G5’s friends swappable modules, Moto-Z has modules that are slightly easy to use. You don’t need to swap or take out the battery to use any mode. Just put it on the back and a sound will let you know that swap is done. You can also customize your Moto with these modules. Motorola also partnered with famous back cover makers for Moto-Z modes. The smartphones will be available in September globally. The smartphone will be known as Moto-Z-Droid and Moto-Z Force Droid in the US. Watch the video below.
