500px’s Splash lets you search Photo by Drawing or sketching
Have you ever tried searching an image on Google? That’s a great feature of Google and is known as Google Imag search. It is the most useful image search tool on any search engine. But what if you want to find out that picture a month or a year later after seeing it but you didn’t remember what image that was? Don’t worry there is a tool that will let you search images just by sketching them. One of the biggest stock image provider “500px” recently launched a new feature for their site. They are calling it Splash. So you can search photo by drawing with Splash by 500px labs.
Search photo by Drawing it on a Canvas.
The tool by 500px lets us search a picture by just drawing it on a canvas they provide. You can choose colors and also adjust the size of the brush (actually a highlighter). Splash tool is not precise as it is in the development phase, but it is fun to use it. Just draw a scenery, and you will get relevant image search results. The tool is visually weird and incomplete. It seems like the oldest version of paint software. 500px launched this tool as an experiment on their website. But who knows, one day we will see this kind of tool to search an image on the internet by just drawing. The feature doesn’t always work correctly, but you should give it a try here.
Splash is an experimental tool on 500px labs domain that lets anyone draw an image on canvas to search it. It’s great to see companies are working on unique ideas in their research labs. We can hope to see a better version of Splash near in future.
